Two exciting studies regarding sexual health were recently published.
The landmark comprehensive national survey of older adults in the United States regarding sexual problems, attitudes, and behaviors indicates that the majority of older adults (57 to 85 years of age) are engaged in spousal or other intimate relationships and consider sexuality to be a significant aspect of life. Data originally funded by the CIEF Educational Research Grant program and presented by Robert S. Tan, MD, at the 2006 Distinguished Faculty Meeting in Philadelphia have been published in the International Journal of Impotence Research. The study was conducted to investigate patients’ preferences regarding gender of the health care provider to manage erectile dysfunction.
